An electric Integrated Starter-Generator can efficiently add gas-free torque. AMG Cylinder Management can seamlessly deactivate four cylinders. Yet even with its advancements, each V8 is still hand-built and signed by its own craftsman.

Dynamic engine mounts

Computer-controlled dynamic engine mounts further elevate performance. They're filled with magnetorheological fluid that can be stiffened progressively via electrical current. By individually optimizing their support, they can maximize handling precision in extreme driving, yet deliver smooth refinement in normal driving.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for quick acceleration response. An added benefit of the Integrated Starter-Generator is how it can make the restart process more seamlessly smooth than ever before. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission

Specific AMG programming of the 9-speed automatic transmission delivers quicker gear changes in the paddle-shifted Manual mode. In the Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, the wide range of closely spaced ratios offers an ideal blend of smooth, efficient performance in virtually every driving situation, from relaxed cruising to quick acceleration. The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Exit Warning Assist

Exit Warning Assist employs the technology of Blind Spot Assist for a brief period after parking. It can alert the driver or passengers to approaching vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could create a risk if the door is opened.

Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC

A Mercedes-Benz innovation, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC^® cruise control uses radar-based technology to adapt your set speed in response to the flow of traffic ahead. If traffic slows down, it can reduce your speed automatically until your path clears. If the vehicle ahead slows to a stop, it can brake to a full halt. When traffic moves, you can resume with just a tap of the accelerator or cruise control button, or it can resume automatically if the stop is under 30 seconds.

Active Steering Assist

Active Steering Assist can be engaged whenever you're using DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control. Using cameras and other sensors to detect lane markings, guardrails and other vehicles, Active Steering Assist can help the driver keep the vehicle centered in its lane while cruising, even in gentle curves.
