Like every member of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family, the GLB takes its shape from its capabilities, from sizable wheels to the functional roof rails. Solidly upright styling and a long wheelbase maximize cabin space, allowing seating for up to seven in a compact footprint, while short overhangs enhance maneuverability in town and off-road. Ruggedly appealing details include black wheel-arch trim, a bold grille, and wrap-under doors to help you exit without touching dirty side sills.

AMG body styling.

The GLB and AMG join forces in style. The vertical-bar AMG grille is underscored by a deep front apron with large air intakes, black outer flics, and a matte chrome splitter. Black fender flares and side sills bridge the standard 19-inch wheels. The deep rear valance embraces the four round AMG tailpipes and black diffuser. The rear liftgate integrates a functional spoiler lip.

A vivid 10.25-inch screen lets you reconfigure the AMG instrumentation. To its right, a touchscreen of equal size places a world of multimedia content for easy reach, easy viewing, and easy comprehension.

Gratifying grasp.

Gear changes, cabin features, and vehicle settings are easy to grasp with your hands on the sport steering wheel. An even sportier AMG Performance steering wheel is available in Nappa leather, grippy DINAMICA microsuede, or a combo.

Power front seats with 3-position memory.

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you find your ideal driving position with 12-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power side mirror positions. Both front seats also feature adjustable cushion length, for optimal thigh support and added comfort.

40/20/40-split folding 2nd-row seats.

The 2nd-row seatbacks fold down in a 40/20/40 split, offering a variety of cargo and passenger configurations. Folding the center section independently can help you fit longer items like skis between two rear passengers. The seatbacks are adjustable to multiple positions from a comfortably gentle recline to more upright settings to add cargo length while still seating passengers. The second row also slides fore-aft up to 5.5 inches for a range of legroom and cargo space.

Optional 3rd-row seats.

Available 3rd-row seating provides room for two additional passengers to ride in the GLB. Active Brake Assist.

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call service.

If an air bag deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This vital service is provided for as long as you own the vehicle, no matter who's driving.

ATTENTION ASSIST.

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Optional Dashcam.

A camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, and let you save it for playback using your own compatible USB flash drive. Potentially useful for documenting an accident or other event, the 1,280x720-pixel video with a 30-Hz frame rate can also include vehicle speed and the time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display or on your own computer via your USB flash drive.

Body structure.

Whenever the front wipers are on and you shift to Reverse, the GLB's rear-window wiper automatically sweeps to clear your view out the back. The wiper can also be switched on to its intermittent setting at any time by the driver, and includes a washer.

LED Daytime Running Lamps.

Bright white LED Daytime Running Lamps help get the GLB-Class noticed, for added safety and in modern style. Their distinctive angular design accentuates the subtle forward lean of the grille.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist.

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.
