AMG-enhanced 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine

A 302-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine features numerous AMG enhancements for instant response. Increased boost from its liquid-cooled turbo puts its 295 lb-ft of torque on tap at just 3,000 rpm, for a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds. Rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection act with millisecond speed and molecular precision. Beneath its red-striped engine cover, a lightweight diecast-alloy block, variable valve timing and reduced friction further raise efficiency and performance.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed dual-clutch transmission

The aggressively geared 7-speed DCT combines racing-derived dual-clutch design with AMG SPEEDSHIFT® technology. Able to change gears faster than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, its shift paddles and rev-matched downshifts provide instant response. In addition to a Manual mode, it has two automatic modes, Comfort and Sport. Carbon fiber friction linings optimize the response and durability of its fast-acting synchros.

AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive

AMG Performance 4MATIC® all-wheel drive is cleverly integrated with the gearbox, for class-leading lightness. A multiplate clutch in the rear differential instantly varies the torque split between the front and rear axles. Cornering agility is further enhanced by 3-stage ESP® and torque-vectoring ESP Dynamic Cornering Assist. From more confident cornering to more capable handling in any season, on any road, it's all-wheel drive of a higher order.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT

Multiple drive modes let you transform the car's character via a single control. Four modes (Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points and steering effort, as well as the characteristics of ESP® and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. A fifth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting.

A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power side mirror positions. Both front seats also feature adjustable cushion length, for optimal thigh support and added comfort.

Sport front seats

Sport front seats feature deeper side bolsters to offer enhanced lateral support. All four outboard seats feature racing-inspired integrated head restraints.

64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents

A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting outlines the dash/door trim and console, while casting a glow in the dash vents, footwells, door handles and door pockets. Along with 64 selectable colors, three cabin zones and adjustable brightness, numerous programs let you enjoy two colors at once, and either static or slowly changing hues. A "light show" greets your arrival, while the dash vent lighting briefly acknowledges your climate-control adjustments.

Outside temperature display

A digital readout in the instrument cluster shows the outside temperature as measured by a sensor in the front of the vehicle. It's especially useful in helping you keep aware of temperatures that could cause the road surface to freeze.

Heated power side mirrors

Power adjustment makes it easy to set the side mirrors for your optimum view. Automatic heating helps disperse mist or frost from their lenses in poor weather.

Blind Spot Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

Crosswind Assist

Interpreting information that is continually supplied by the car's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), electric power steering and suspension sensors, Crosswind Assist can help detect the effects of strong side winds on the vehicle's handling stability at highway speeds. Whether caused by lateral gusts or even a passing truck, the system can help keep the car on course via strategic braking of the wheels on one side of the vehicle.

8 air bags

An advanced system of 8 air bags offers 10-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags, combined thorax/pelvic bags, and knee air bags for the driver and front passenger, plus side curtain air bags for both seating rows. Side-impact air bags are also standard for each outboard rear seating position.

Rearview camera

For a better view of what's behind your vehicle when reversing, a high-resolution camera can display a live view on the central in-dash screen.
