A 302-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine features numerous AMG enhancements for instant response. Rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection team with a liquid-cooled turbo to put its 295 lb-ft of torque on tap at just 3,000 rpm, and deliver 60 mph just 5.4 seconds. Advanced 48-volt architecture and a belt-driven Starter-Generator can supply up to 13 hp for added response on demand. Beneath its red-striped engine cover, a lightweight diecast-alloy block, variable valve timing and reduced friction further raise efficiency and performance.

Hybrid Starter-Generator

Electrifying the inline-4 gasoline engine is an innovative belt-driven Starter-Generator (RSG). It can generate a brief burst of 13 additional, gas-free horsepower, for even more enthusiastic yet efficient response. It also teams with the car's 48-volt electrical architecture to support gliding, recuperation and stop/start functions to seamlessly enhance efficiency.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8-speed dual-clutch transmission

The aggressively geared 8-speed DCT combines racing-derived dual-clutch design with AMG SPEEDSHIFT^® technology. Able to change gears faster than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, its shift paddles and rev-matched downshifts provide instant response. In addition to a Manual mode, the various modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT offer distinctive accelerator and gearshifting characteristics. Carbon fiber friction linings optimize the response and durability of its fast-acting synchros.

4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS)

Purposeful, precise and poised, AMG^® wheels are available in seven styles. Standard 19-inch wheels and options up to 21 inches include three designs with bold matte black centers.

LED headlamps and taillamps

With longer life, quicker illumination and beams that approximate daylight even more closely than xenon headlamps, multi-element LED headlamps can enhance both vision and visibility during nighttime driving. LED Daytime Running Lamps and front turn signals are integrated within the flowing sculpture of the headlamp assemblies, making the design as appealing as it is illuminating. The all-LED taillamps feature a three-dimensional design with a distinctive family resemblance.

Heated power front seats with 3-position memory

Intuitive, and artfully sculpted, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 8-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the side mirror positions. Standard heating with automatic timed step-down adds soothing, controlled comfort in cool weather.

4-way manually adjustable steering column

64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents

A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting outlines the dash/door trim and console, while casting a glow in the chrome-ringed dash vents, footwells, door handles and door pockets. Along with 64 selectable colors, three cabin zones and adjustable brightness, you can also enjoy two colors at once, and either static or slowly changing hues. A "light show" greets your arrival, while the dash vent lighting briefly acknowledges your climate-control adjustments.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 5 microns from entering the cabin. Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.

Power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Adaptive braking technology

daptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying can periodically apply the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist can help prevent unwanted rollback. And a brake HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.

Blind Spot Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

Crosswind Assist

Interpreting information that is continually supplied by the car's Electronic Stability Program (ESP^®), electric power steering and suspension sensors, Crosswind Assist can help detect the effects of strong side winds on the vehicle's handling stability at highway speeds. Whether caused by lateral gusts or even a passing truck, the system can help keep the car on course via strategic braking of the wheels on one side of the vehicle.
