2.0L Inline-4 Turbo Engine

A new 255-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves every few milliseconds to optimize performance, efficiency and emissions. An intercooled twin-scroll turbocharger and CAMTRONIC variable valve lift help deliver all of the engine's 273 lb-ft of torque from just 1,800 rpm, for vigorous response when taking off, merging or passing.

DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you dial in the vehicle's performance character to suit your needs or your mood. DYNAMIC SELECT offers three preset modes: ECO, Comfort and Sport, plus an Individual mode you can configure a la carte. Each mode adapts the throttle response, shift programming, ESP and more. Models with AIRMATIC® suspension also adapt the damping rate in the various modes.

9G-TRONIC: The Fast And The Flexible.

Active Brake Assist

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

Blind Spot Assist

When traveling above approximately 20 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, new enhancements can also alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.
