7-Speed DCT Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission

The racing-inspired 7-speed transmission combines the sporty response of a manual, the smooth refinement of an automatic, and better efficiency than either. Dual clutches offer quicker gear changes than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, while three overdrive ratios boost highway mpg. With a confident stance and athletic stride, the GLA's muscular shape is more than a tribute not just to its rich SUV heritage. It's a direct reflection of the engineering under its own stylish skin. Advanced aerodynamics enhance its efficiency and road holding. Side sills and flared wheel arches are outlined in resilient matte black cladding, wrapping the body around the generously sized wheels. Chrome roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler highlight the tautly arched roofline.

Iconic grille

With its large central Star and signature shape, the wide grille of the GLA can't be mistaken for anything but true Mercedes-Benz style. Swept back at a subtle angle, the grille's twin chrome crosswings radiate from the Star to its curving sides, a shape echoed in the expressive headlamps. Aggressive sculpting of the lower air dam underscores the bold "twin power dome" hood and sculpted fenders.

18-inch twin 5-spoke wheels

Power Liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set an opening-height limit for low ceilings. A chrome sill plate helps protect the rear bumper while you're loading cargo.

Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin. Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.

14-Way Power Driver Seat With Memory

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you find your ideal driving position with 14-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for the driver seat recalls three stored positions for the seat plus the power side mirrors.
