And the gasoline engine is further enhanced with a more efficient turbocharger, CAMTRONIC variable valve lift, and friction-reducing CONICSHAPE cylinders with NANOSLIDE walls.

9G-TRONIC automatic transmission

With a wide range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the 9-speed automatic changes gears quickly yet smoothly. The light, versatile transmission enhances performance, quiet riding comfort and efficiency. The electronic selector and shift paddles let you control all gear changes with your hands on the steering wheel. And drivers can vary the shift modes via the innovative DYNAMIC SELECT system.

4-wheel multilink suspension

The 4-wheel independent suspension features a 4-link front axle and further evolution of the standard-setting 5-arm multilink rear design. Both employ numerous lightweight, highly rigid forged aluminum components.

Torque Vectoring Brake

Standard Torque Vectoring Brake technology provides additional control and precision in turns via targeted rear-wheel braking. If the vehicle's Electronic Stability Program (ESP^®) detects understeer while cornering, the system applies the brake to the inside rear wheel, temporarily shifting torque distribution in favor of the outside wheel. This can help the vehicle to gently pivot in compensation, putting it on a line of travel, or vector, better suited to the turn.

The Antilock Braking System (ABS) can sense impending wheel lockup under heavy braking, and pump the front brakes individually or the rear brakes together up to 30 times per second. By preventing wheel lockup, ABS helps preserve the driver's steering ability during hard braking.
