AMG-enhanced 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine with hybrid assist

The seamless power and natural balance of an inline-6 pair with another Mercedes-AMG tradition: a technological leap forward. The lightweight, fully beltless and comprehensively upgraded engine is also electrified: An Integrated Starter-Generator can supply up to 23 hp and recapture energy during deceleration. An improved electric auxiliary compressor enhances the response of a larger turbo with up to 22 psi of max boost. The gas engine outputs 443 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque on its own.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed transmission

Specific AMG programming of the 9-speed automatic transmission delivers quicker gear changes in the paddle-shifted Manual mode. In the Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Slippery modes of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, the wide range of closely spaced ratios offers an ideal blend of smooth, efficient performance in virtually every driving situation, from relaxed cruising to quick acceleration. Three overdrive ratios further enhance highway fuel efficiency.

AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive

A specially engineered version of 4MATIC^® can instantly vary the front-to-rear torque distribution in precise response to driving conditions and driver inputs. It can even send up to 100% to the rear wheels. An electromechanical coupling between the front and rear axles is controlled based on an elaborate matrix of driving mode, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, and available grip to optimize handling and acceleration on virtually any road or track surface.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system can automatically shut off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® can continuously monitor up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist

When traveling above approximately 8 mph, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist can then help alert the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. An audible warning sounds if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot. After parking, Exit Warning Assist can alert the driver or passengers to vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.

7 air bags

An advanced system of 7 air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags and combined thorax/pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, plus a knee air bag for the driver, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.

PRE-SAFE

A Mercedes-Benz first, PRE-SAFE^® can detect instability during certain vehicle maneuvers that suggest a collision or rollover is imminent. It can then tighten the front seat belts, adjust the front passenger seat, and close the windows and sunroof, all in an effort to better prepare the occupants and restraints in the moments before a collision. If no accident occurs, the seat-belt tensioners reverse, and you simply readjust your seat, open the sunroof and continue on your way.
